Walking Group Update for 18th May

Walk 18th May

 Please note that we have changed the published walk on the 18th May.  It will now start from the lay by at Black Rock (Grid Reference ST482546) at the top of Cheddar Gorge instead of the YMCA carpark at Street.  We will also be meeting up an hour earlier than usual (9.00am) at Bank Street Car Park and hope to start the walk around 9.30am.

Holidays 2018 Update

We have 2 twin and 1 double room available for Liverpool. We depart Highbridge on 23rd April 2018 for a 4 night 5 day break staying at the 4 star Mercure Hotel, Bed, Breakfast and evening meal. Day coach trips included £235.00 per person. 

We also have Twin Rooms available for a 4 night 5 day break at Bournemouth Sands Hotel, Bournemouth on the 11th September 2018 cost £215.00, coach travel, half board, live Evening Entertainment. Coach Day trips available at small extra charge.

Christmas Hamper Draw 2017

We intend to again produce a Hamper similar to last year’s and are inviting all members to donate suitable items. The draw will take place during the Coffee Morning on Wednesday 6th December; the items will therefore be required not later than Wednesday 29th November so that the hamper may be produced; plus additional baskets as last year, if a surplus of items are donated.

Staying at the Mercury Atlantic Tower 4 star Hotel in a Prime City Location from the 23rd April to the 27th April for £235.00 p.p. Plus single supplement.

Price includes Coach travel from Highbridge to Liverpool and return, Half Board ensuite accommodation and Coach day trips.

URGENT: Llandudno Holiday Room Available

Please could you do an URGENT email drop to see if anyone would like to go to Llandudno from Tuesday to Saturday next week, 5th to 9th September. We have a Twin Sea View Room available, cost price was £240.00 per person but will sell for £200. Second Cream Tea for 2017

There will be another Cream Tea this year to be held on Thursday 28 September at 3.30 at Highbridge Community hall, all names and money to be paid to Janet Preddy by 20 September. Price is £2.50.

Shepton Mallet Prison Visit

There will be a coach trip on 22nd February 2018 to tour Shepton Mallet Prison.
 
The tour takes 2hrs and the guides are prison officers who have worked at the prison.
 
There is a very dark side to the building and its history. The Kray twins were there at one time apart from other well known criminals. The prison closes its doors in April of next year when it will be turned into shops and flats so this may be our only chance to see what it is like.
 
After the tour I am looking for somewhere to have some lunch, I will notify you all when I have done so.  
 
I am taking names now if you are interested.

Holiday: Llandudno 2017 Update

Llandudno holiday 5th to 9th September.

We have a last minute cancellation on the above holiday.

The cost is £250.00 to include – Coach travel, half board, live entertainment, Sea View single room.

The coach will depart at 9am on the 5th September and will arrive back approx 5pm on the 9th September.

Theatre Trip: Half a Sixpence at The Weston Playhouse

On Saturday 28th October there is a trip to the Weston-super-Mare Playhouse to see the show: –

“Half a Sixpence”

The coach will leave the Highbridge Community Hall at 1.00 p.m. for the matinee show at 2.30 p.m.

Cream Tea 2017

This year’s cream tea outing is at the Bleadon Post Office Country Store and Cafe in Bleadon on Thursday 27th July 2017 at 3.30pm.
