Sixties Night Social Evening
Vour is proposing to hold a sixties night on the 14th December at the Community Hall with a bring and share supper. She is still awaiting confirmation from the DJ but if all is well, the cost will be £7.00 per person. More details to follow on the web site and also at the coffee mornings when we have them.
Interested in joining a new Crocheting Group?
We are hoping to start a new crocheting group. Alison Ridley has kindly volunteered to become group leader and would like to know if anyone would be interested in joining her. UPDATED: Card Making Group Changes
From September 2019 the Card Making Group will move from Southwell House to a private house at Smurl Lane, West Huntspill.
Also, the 1st Monday of the month session will move from morning to afternoon (2.00 to 4.00).
Note, the Card Making Group will not be running in August.

Notice of Special Meeting to Discuss U3A of Highbridge Constitution
A Special General Meeting is to be held at 10.30 on Wednesday 31 July 2019 at the Community Hall, Highbridge to discuss adoption of the new U3A Model Constitution. This is needed before the U3A of Highbridge’s application to become a charity will be accepted by the Charity Commission.

May/June 2019 U3A of Highbridge Magazine Delay
We regret to announce that the May/June 2019 U3A magazine will not be distributed on the first Wednesday of May (May 1st) as originally planned, but will be distributed on the following Wednesday (May 8th). This is due to availability of distribution volunteers as a result of holidays.

The notice for the U3A Open Day 2018 has been updated. Lunch is now £3.00 and not £2.50 as previously stated.

OPEN DAY
Wednesday 21st November 2018
10.00 am until 1.30 pm
We have many Groups and with everyone’s support and participation we can make this event as successful as the last one.
We wish to again have demonstrations, displays and information from each Group where this is applicable; and you may wish to sell some items. Would Group Leaders please let me know what tables, etc. you will need. There is a shortage of display boards for the tables, so if you are able to supply your own that would help or should you know anyone who would loan us a few it would be appreciated.
Light lunches will be available e.g. Soup, Ploughman’s, Tea, Coffee, Cake etc., for a cost of £2.50.
As fund raisers we will have Tombola and Cake Stalls, etc. So donations for these would be gratefully accepted.

Rooms Available for Bournemouth Holiday 2018 – UPDATED
We still have availability for twin rooms at Bournemouth Sands Hotel from the 11th to 15th September, total cost £225.00 inclusive Coach Travel, Half Board, Live evening Entertainment, optional coach trips (extra charge). This is the last holiday arranged by Brenda and Di.

Cream Teas 2018
Three dates have been arranged for Cream Teas this year:
Tuesday July 17th
Tuesday August 21st
Monday September 17th
Venue for all is Highbridge Community Hall at 3.30pm.
Cost is £3.00 for each cream tea.
Theatre Trip: Cats at the Weston Playhouse
A new Theatre Trip has been added to the calendar—’Cats’ at the Weston-Super-Mare Playhouse on Saturday October 27th 2018. Coach leaves Highbridge Community Hall at 1pm. Cost is £21.00.
